A few hours after I finish my 3hr run for today, the true endurance athletes will begin the 2012 Badwater Ultramarathon, 135mi/ 217km through Death Valley (ominous?). If that's not enough, it begins at 282ft/ 86m below sea level and finishes at 8,400ft/ 2,550m above sea level.
